Member News Who’s Who in Reverse Mortgages Celink Receives Tech Award Celink received HousingWire’s Tech100 Mortgage award for the second consecutive year. The Tech100 Mortgage award recognizes companies that are revolutionizing the mortgage industry across all functions, including origination, closing, secondary marketing and servicing. “Celink sees a responsibility to deliver intuitive, inclusive technology, specifically tailored to enable and encourage its senior customers,” said HousingWire in a statement. “In a digital age, Celink places an intentional, continuous focus on empowering the borrowers and team members of customer service associates with technology tools that ensure delightful interactions.” Guild Mortgage Acquires Academy Mortgage San Diego-based Guild Mortgage has acquired the retail lending assets of Academy Mortgage Corp., a privately held Utah-based lender. In a news release, Guild said Academy Mortgage boasts 200 branches and more than 1,000 employees who will transition to Guild, including more than 600 licensed mortgage originators. According to statistics compiled by Reverse Market Insight, Guild ranked number eight in 2023 in the Top 100 list of HECM lenders, while Academy ranked No. 39. Morales Joins Mortgage Cadence Sales Team Mortgage Cadence announced that George Morales is joining the company’s sales team. Morales, an active member of NRMLA’s HUD Issues Committee, has nearly 25 years of mortgage and real estate industry experience. He joined Mortgage Cadence in February 2023 as a reverse mortgage product manager. Morales’ professional background includes directing branch and loan originator relations, developing strategies and overseeing products and compliance for The Sless Group of Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. He also has years of multichannel experience at American Advisors Group and other organizations. University Bank Bolsters Reverse Mortgage Staff University Bank added four key hires across different disciplines as it prepares to grow further in the reverse mortgage space. CRMPs Jake Droge and Sue Haviland joined the bank’s salesforce, while Carol Olmos was hired as an account executive. Droge and Olmos most recently worked at Open Mortgage, while Haviland spent three years as a wholesale trainer at Finance of America Reverse.
