The White House last week nominated Dana Wade to be the next Assistant Secretary for Housing/Federal Housing Administration Commissioner. If approved by the Senate, Wade would replace Brian Montgomery, who was confirmed by the Senate as FHA Commissioner in May 2018.
President Trump nominated Commissioner Montgomery to be Deputy HUD Secretary in October 2019 and he is awaiting Senate approval to that position.
Ms. Wade was previously the Acting FHA Commissioner from July 2017 to June 2018 and then she moved to the Office of Management and Budget.
She has also held some of the most senior staff positions in Congress, serving as the Deputy Staff Director for the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Development and the Republican Deputy Staff Director for the United States Senate Committee on Appropriations under Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL).
