On the same day that the full Senate confirmed Brian Montgomery as the next Deputy HUD Secretary, the Senate Banking Committee approved the nomination of Dana Wade to replace him as Assistant Secretary for Housing/FHA Commissioner.
Wade’s nomination was approved on May 12 by a vote of 15-10. Her nomination must now be voted on by the full Senate. No date has been announced when that vote will take place.
Wade was previously the Acting FHA Commissioner from July 2017 to June 2018 before she moved to the Office of Management and Budget and was replaced by Montgomery.
Montgomery is now the second most senior official at HUD. He will manage the day-to-day operations of the agency and will advise and assist the Secretary in leading the Department’s nearly 8,000 employees.
