Update on HECM Counseling Certificate

Update on HECM Counseling Certificate

NRMLA was contacted by HUD’s Office of Housing Counseling’s Senior Housing Program Specialist who asked us to advise our membership that the “Certificate of HECM Counseling” is still VALID.

The current certificate does have an “expired” date, but the Office of Housing Counseling (OHC) is preparing the documentation required to submit the new and revised counseling certificate to the Federal Register for public comment.

This publication and comment process could take several months. In the meantime, the current version of the counseling certificate is VALID and can continue to be used.

Please be sure to let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter by emailing Darryl Hicks, at dhicks@dworbell.com.
