A primary job of NRMLA is to stay on top of the constantly evolving federal and state laws covering reverse mortgages. NRMLA’s staff—including President Steve Irwin and Founder and CEO Peter Bell—monitor the details. But they also rely on a team of lobbyists and consultants, as well as volunteers on the Board of Directors and its many committees that are filled from within NRMLA’s membership. In this issue of Reverse Mortgage magazine, we examine some of the issues that come about when there is turnover with a new Congress and presidential administration, as well as provide insight into why it is important to monitor state governments and agencies.
