House Financial Services Committee Publishes Agenda For Next Two Years

The House Financial Services Committee, chaired by Representative Patrick McHenry (R-NC), published an Authorization and Oversight Plan this week that provides a sneak peek into the areas that lawmakers will be focused on for the next two years.

On the topic of housing and more specifically the Federal Housing Administration, the Authorization and Oversight Plan states: The Committee will examine the operations of the Federal Housing Administration in our housing finance system, including FHA’s appropriate role, market share, and ability to manage its mortgage portfolio and mitigate taxpayer risk.

As part of our advocacy efforts, NRMLA will be meeting with committee staff and key lawmakers from both political parties throughout the year to educate them on reverse mortgages and the industry’s most critical issues.
