Meet Suzanne Causley, a loan officer with Goldwater Bank, located in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
With over 30 years of experience in customer service, marketing, and lending, Suzanne brings a deep passion for helping people navigate important financial decisions—especially those entering retirement.
How did you get into the reverse mortgage world?
After spending 25 years in traditional lending, I discovered my true calling: Reverse Mortgages. It all started back in 1997 at a local chamber networking mixer in Lake Havasu City. A conversation led me to meet Jerry Jolstead, who offered me an opportunity on the spot. That pivotal moment launched my journey into Reverse Mortgages, and I’ve never looked back.
What reverse mortgage issues/topics are you most focused on now?
For over two decades, I’ve focused exclusively on Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECM), helping homeowners aged 62 and older tap into their home equity to enhance their quality of life. Whether it’s eliminating monthly mortgage payments, funding healthcare expenses, supplementing retirement income, or even purchasing a new home using a HECM for Purchase, I love showing clients how a Reverse Mortgage can be a powerful, life-changing financial tool. I’m passionate about educating seniors and their families on how this unique product works—empowering them to live with more freedom, confidence, and peace of mind. My clients often tell me how surprised they are to learn just how flexible and safe today’s Reverse Mortgages are.
Why did you become a NRMLA member?
I’m proud to be a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association, and I stay actively involved by attending annual conferences to remain up to date on regulatory changes, new products, and industry best practices. One of my favorite events was in Nashville, where I connected with like-minded professionals who share my commitment to helping seniors thrive. Currently, I serve as a Reverse Mortgage Specialist with Goldwater Bank, licensed to lend in all 50 states. I have assisted clients across Arizona—including Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Kingman, Prescott Valley, and throughout Mohave, La Paz, and Maricopa counties. Throughout my career, I’ve been recognized as a Top Producer at respected institutions such as First Bank, MetLife, Wells Fargo, Mohave State Bank, and Arizona Financial Credit Union.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or pursuits?
Beyond my career, I hold an AA in Fashion Merchandising and a Social Work Certificate. I’ve called Lake Havasu City home since 1994, where I raised my daughter as a single mom. Today, I’m proud to have a growing family—my son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and extended family all live here in Arizona. In my free time, I enjoy boating, off-roading in the desert with my Razor, and making memories with family and friends. I’m client-driven, dedicated to quality service, and genuinely love what I do. After 27 years in this industry, I still find joy in helping clients unlock the value of their homes and gain the financial freedom they deserve.
