Why do companies make the investment to join and become active in NRMLA? Here are a few reasons.
I joined NRMLA because I value continuing education, collaboration with other reverse mortgage professionals, and staying informed on industry changes. The opportunity to connect with like-minded experts and uphold the highest professional standards is invaluable. Attending live NRMLA events allows me to grow my knowledge and enhance my practice so I can better serve my clients.–Renee Duval, Bookend Lending
As I was researching the reverse mortgage industry and ways to offer the product, I spoke to a family friend who was the reverse mortgage guy in a small town in Colorado. He retired twice from doing reverse mortgages because so many people in his area needed a trusted reverse mortgage expert. He mentioned to me that reverse mortgage clients are always grateful after closing. He asked me to name one closing that I have had where the borrowers told me that I changed their life. I could not think of one. His first suggestion was for me to start at NRMLA for education, guidance and direction. He said that it was a must have membership, not for the recognition but for the integrity, education and guidance. I followed his suggestion and joined the NRMLA. Thereafter, I have been a sponge, learning and taking guidance from the NRMLA and its members.–Samantha Cooley, Mindful Money
I became a member of NRMLA because it is imperative that you align with and support the group that advocates for your profession. We operate in a field where how you deliver the product is most important. We must operate with a high set of ethical standards and NRMLA helps maintain that standard. Also, NRMLA is the face of the reverse mortgage world to others like legislators, media and regulators. They consistently advocate for our industry with a unified voice that portrays its members in the best possible way.–Tom Hedderich, Hallmark Home Mortgage
