NRMLA, along with 22 other advocacy groups, co-signed a letter asking members of the Senate Banking Committee to approve the nomination of Scott Turner as the next Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Today, the Senate Banking Committee held a public hearing to give Turner the opportunity to make his case for why he should be HUD Secretary and to answer Senator’s questions. You can watch a recording of the hearing at Senate.gov.
What they’re saying: “Mr. Turner possesses an impressive background in both housing and community development. During the first Trump administration, he served as the executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council,” says the letter.
- “In that role, he was charged with coordinating federal resources in Opportunity Zones and other distressed communities. In the private sector, Mr. Turner has been a senior executive at a national multifamily housing developer.”
