Impact of Government Shutdown on HECM

This morning, the Federal Housing Administration issued FHA Info 2025-49 to highlight single-family operations and systems availability during the federal government shutdown.

While claims filing and processing WILL be available, FHA will not have the capability to endorse new HECMs until funding is restored.

For additional details, please refer to HUD’s Contingency Plan for Possible Lapse in Appropriations 2025, which has been updated since the last version was published yesterday evening.
